Help Problem setting up wireless network with dlink and ntl

Hi,
I have purchased a d-link router. pc cardbus and pci airbus hardware and am trying to connect to ntl broadband connection. I seem to be having trouble setting up - i can either recongnise the router or a direct connection to my first pc but cannot access though the router.
I think i may have a dificulty setting up even though i have followed the instructions.
Anyone had any success out there and if so please tell me how u did it.

Thanks

Hi Jinn,

Yep, I've done it - but took me a long time - due to poor support and documentation. But also 'cos there's much more to it than I thought. There's the router set up; the WAP ditto; the network; and, of course, the wireless cards. And as they all interact, it was hard to know just where to begin, as everything seemed to depend on everything else.

My set up is: ntl cable into the DI-604 router's WAN socket (from the back of the digibox; mine has the X-Over connection - seemingly needed between the box and the router too).

From one of the router's LAN ports, an Ethernet cable to the WAP (DWL-5000AP in my case).

DLink's DWL-A520 into each PC; DWL-A650 into the laptop.

Get the A520 working first. Contrary to what everyone tells me, I have to use specific IP amd DNS addresses (tho' the latter appears curiously indifferent).

Once that's done, you should get inctercommunication with the WAP straight out of the box.

Some of the entries are arbitrarily assigned by yourself; others by the hardware (but can be changed); and some by the ISP - ntl in this case. The ISP ones can be done dynamically, from the WAN setting of the router.
