DLink Router+DLink Wireless Card and IP Problems

Hello all--

I have a DLink Router/AP DI-624 and DLink Wireless Card DWL-G650. Both are updated with the latest firmware.

I have no problems having things work when all encryption is turned off. When I use WPA, however, my NIC invariably defaults to an invalid ip address. I do manage to connect for short periods of time. Usually the trouble starts when I come out of hibernation...although sometimes it even happens 'spontaneously'. Releasing and renewing my ip usually doesn't help. I have disabled Windows XP's ability to assign private addresses, but this hasn't fixed the problem. I am currently using a static ip (from router to nic), but even this doesn't work when I enable WPA.

I appreciate your comments and suggestions. If you need more details, please say so.

I also have similar issues with one of my notebook/wireless NIC combinations. I have found that with that particular combination, "Hibernation" restores more consistently then "Suspend", but I still have to reboot every 3 to 4 days.
