D-Link DI-614+
Hello,
I'm pretty new with everything concerning WLAN, so please bear with me even if I should happen to make some idiotically obvious questions. :-)
Anyway, I've been thinking of setting up a WLAN alongside my current LAN so that the laptop doesn't have to be tied down to the table with the RJ45 cable. For the WLAN hardware, I've been thinking of getting D-Link's DI-614+ and a D-Link DWL-650+. Does anyone have any comments on either one of the products above?
My current set up is something like this: I have a DSL connection that goes to my router (a Pentium box running Red Hat 8.0), which is used as a gateway between my LAN and the internet. The rest of the computers are hooked up with an 8-port 10 Mbps hub and have been assigned static IPs from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.5.
I still haven't found a clear answer on whether or not I can just hook up the DI-614+ with the hub and be all set. Any ideas? What about other products? My current budget is around 300 euros for the base station and PCMCIA card, so any suggestions should be within the limit.
Regards,
Tuomo
