Unhappy Sharing works for a while, then dies in one direction....

The center of my topology is a 8 port Gigabit switch that receives the internet from a Linksys router. Both machines in question receive their network from this Gigabit switch, switch #1. PC#2 has an extra little switch behind it to provide a second internet connection in my living room.

My Desktop PC (Vista Enterprise) is PC#1:
ISP -> cable modem -> Linksys Router -> Switch #1 -> PC #1

My Media Center PC (Vista Ultimate) is PC#2:
ISP -> cable model -> Linksys Router -> Switch #1 - > Switch #2 -> PC#2

Both PCs are configured as Home/Private networks, and both PCs have the following services running in the 'Network and Sharing Center':
-Network Discovery
-File Sharing
-Public Folder Sharing
-Password Protected Sharing
-Media Sharing

The only difference is that PC#2 also runs Printer Sharing. All protocols are those that were installed with Windows Vista, including IPv4 AND IPv6. All connections are configured to run at Gigabit speed, and I have made no configuration changes on the NICs themselves.

The Problem:
PC#2 has a share defined called 'Music'. On PC#1 I can map a drive letter to \\PC2\music and it works. After moving files from PC#1 to the share drive on PC#2 for anywhere from 10 to 60 minutes the share stops responding, putting the explorer process on PC#1 into a 'Not responding' state. I can still open a cmd window on PC1 and ping PC2 with the machine name, and I can still open a Remote Desktop connection to PC#2 from PC#1. I can also open a share from PC2 back to PC1. But the primary share I want to use from PC1 to PC2 never comes back. The only fix is a reboot of both machines, which gives me 10 to 60 minutes again.

Any ideas? Can I provide any other pieces of info?

Thanks,

Mark
