I have a client who recently enabled the wireless features of his router and is now concerned with security breaches into his computers. This is a residence with several AP's and he wants to restrict guest users of the network to internet access only. Is there any way to configure a consumer brand router to do this?? or do I need to insert a firewall device between his PC's and the router to provide the protection he desires.

wow, what did I do to get you irked. I never claimed to be a network expert. I am primarily a Home Theater installer who sets up networks to utilize Home Automation and control systems and use VPN for secure remote camera viewing for the CCTV systems I also install. I have no formal training in networking, but I am fairly competent in achieving reliable residential networks. This client is renting out a guest house on his property and wants to make sure his PC's are secure. I thought this was a simple question, maybe without a simple answer...but I did not expect to get hostility.

No hostilities. Network design is just beyond the scope of these forums and it is generally inappropriate to take this route when it is for hire. Your customer/situation will probably be better served through a professional referral (from one professional to another) for all parties involved, especially if any unanticipated issues arise.

From a public utility stand-point, the sharing of a single service account across multiple separate occupancies (e.g. renters) may also be in violation of the service agreement and local laws/ordnances around the theft of services (e.g. stealing/sharing cable services across addresses).
