Hi, been browsing for a day now, and I'm trying to figure out what hardware I require so I can share my internet connection at home with others, however the others are not allowed to see anything on my network.

I have a DSL-box, (from my internet provider) which has wifi functionality, and my desktop is connected with this DSL-box. I want people, that ask for it, to be able to browse internet and read email through my connection. However I know that when I provide them my WEP-key they have access to my network also. And this is what I don't want.

If I would buy a second wifi-box, and open this box to the world, can I then secure my own network?

I hope you have some hints, as I couldn't really find the answer on the net. :-(

Cheers

Generally not supported by the equipment manufacturers and it may be against your ISP's AUP (acceptable use policy) depending on your definition/approach to "sharing," but the following thread does describe the approach - http://forums.practicallynetworked.com/showthread.php?t=4038.

thanks for the reply. I will do a test as suggested with the extra router. I wasn't sure about that solution.
