I have a wireless network with 8 pc's. There is a linksys router. All of the pc's can access the internet. However there is a problem with file sharing. Some of them can see and access all others and some can only see and access certain computers. There appears to be no reason or pattern for this. for example computer #1 may be able to access computer 2,3,4 while computer 2 can access 3,4,5 but not 1. I have checked ip, subnet and dhcp, workgroup and all appear to have proper settings. If I ping I can ping the access point 192.168.1.1 but if I try to ping any of the other pc's I get a timeout error. or in other words the PC's that one of computers cannot connect to will not ping. however if the pc does connect to a particular pc the ping is fine. All pc ping the access point. There are no firewalls installed except windows XP firewall and the router firewall. I have also tried turning both of those off but that did not change anything. ALL PC's are running winXP. ANY thoughts? I think I am starting to sprout grey hair!

"if I try to ping any of the other pc's I get a timeout error"

This tends to indicate some type of software firewall running. In some rare cases, it may be TCP/IP configuration mismatches (hint - subnet mask settings), if configuring manually.
