The problem is the laptop is accessing the internet with a broadband Sprint modem that plugs into the laptop with a USB cable. The Links router only accepts Ethernet cables. The end goal is to send a signal to the XBox wireless device. Is there a way to send the signal out the Ethernet connection on the laptop via ICS or will a USB to Ethernet adapter work. And are there any issues to be aware of using an adapter?

The following information on ICS may be right along what you are looking for - http://forums.practicallynetworked.com/showthread.php?t=3600, similar limitations/requirements.
Even with ICS working, there may still be issues of network latency when on the 3G Cellular Data Networks. Depending on the market, the typical spread is anywhere from 200 ms to 400 ms. On the top end, that is right around that of satellite data access, which is considered too non-responsive for some network applications. You might check the networking requirements for on-line Xbox play or at least be considerate of the possible technical limitations, if you are connecting through Sprint's EVDO Cellular Data Network.
You just generically mentioned Sprint, on the off chance that you are actually on their new WiMAX (Xohm) Wireless Data Network, no live experience with that technology yet (too new and too limited coverage for now - at least for me to experience it first hand). There may be a chance that it can work even if their EVDO Cellular Data doesn't work, if its latency is better.

Thank you for your help. I will pursue the ICS and post results. I am not on the new Sprint service WiMAx, I am located in a very rural setting with no cables and limited wireless services. I predict that the service is limited as you have said.
