Unable to access web application

Sorry, if this is not the correct forum. But I am not sure how to proceed. I have a wireless network at home. I installed a web application (jBoss portal) on my PC and am trying to access that URL (http://192.xxx.x.x:8080) from a laptop on the same wireless network. But I have not been able to do that. I can ping the IP address of the PC from my laptop, I can access my router administration (http:192.xxx.x.x) from my latptop and can also access the internet from my laptop. I am completely new to networking in general. Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

If you can ping the system that the application is installed on, then it is probably not a networking issue. Your best bet is to seek assistance from the publishers of the application for proper installation/configuration.
