Dear Moderator

Looks like I'm making a mess of things. I apologize but I have tried to remedy. Post a topic in"Sharing" called "Sygate problem" but it never appeared. I than post "test-please delete" and it did appear but when I try to delete it in the edit menu I get a window telling me I don't have permission to access that page. Then I tried to PM greenstead who I assume is a moderator and get the same warning. SO I don't know what to do. I'd really like to get my original post up. Can you advise? Sorry for any additional work I may be causing.

Thanks in advance

No problems, it's just that, as the message states upon submission of a post, new posts require moderator approval before appearing. This stops spammers cold, but it also delays legit messages for a brief time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for your quick response. I saw the warning about the spam filter. Didn't realize it would take 4 or 5 hours to get through it. But a great idea, though. I'll be more patient in the future.
I still can't PM though. When I try it takes me to a page that says "you do not have permission to access this page." Also can I delete the test messege and this one? I thought it was normal for an original poster to be able to delete there mistakes :D At least that's the experience I've had on other forums.

Thanks

It usually doesn't but I think you posted the initial message while most of us in the US were still asleep. During my waking hours I'm pretty dilligent about checking the post queue.

The PM issue is another anti-spam measure, I'm afraid. There were quite a number of instances of spammers signing up just to use the PM system to spam the membership. I hate that we have to inconvenience our legitimate members because of these parasites, but I wasn't able to find a better solution.

PMs (and signatures) kick in after a certain number of posts to the forum. I don't want to give the exact number because then spammers will know just how many they need to amass before they can ply their insidious trade.
