I am not succeeding in getting a Dell pocketpc 2002 to share with WindowsXP Pro.

I'd like the Dell Axim to connect to my LAN through a D-Link AP/ Router and to share the Internet Connection of my WindowsXP Pro machine.

Pocketpc -> AP/Router -> Windows XP Pro -> Internet via Satellite modem.

I have the DHCP turned off in the router and have Internet Connection Sharing turned on in the Windows XP machine. The connection works great with a second XP machine.

I also hate the fact that the setup routine is so different in the PocketPC from XP and Win98.

Do I need to tell the PocketPC to use a Proxy? If so, which IP address do I set the proxy to? (WinXP machine is 192.168.0.1 and the router is 192.169.0.2)

Thanks for any advice.

Your configuration is a little confusing to follow. But if I read it correctly you need to tell the PocketPC to use a gateway with address 192.168.0.1

Thanks for the advice. PocketPC 2002 devices do not seem to have a place to enter a gateway address. Does anyone know on what screen this information can be added?

Thanks.

I didn't read your first post carefully enough.

You XP and router addresses are incompatible.

You should have the XP PC set to get an IP address automatically. I think you may be able to set the pocket PC the same (i.e DHCP client).
