I've got a RADIUS server accepting authentication requests from users. To add MAC authentication in, I needed to add Active Directory accounts for every wireless MAC that is to connect to the wireless network. The AD usernames and passwords, as per the documentation I read, are equal to the MAC address of each device.

The problem, however, is that when the authentication is happening just for the MAC accounts, its sending the password via PAP. This makes me cry. I think it would be far more fun to use something with a bit more kick than PAP.

Any suggestions or thoughts as to how I can tell Windows to quit authenticating with PAP?

This type of configuration is beyond the scope of most SOHO networks, so there may not be too many responses to this subject across these forums. You might try http://www.enterpriseitplanet.com, they also have a forum too and it is geared at business networks where RADIUS is more typically implemented.
