I am planning on setting up a 3 system wireless network which i would like to use skype (voip service) and basically play warcraft. it is my understanding that firewalls and such impede the speed while playing warcraft. what is the best way to setup my network while not compromising on security? should i put more money in hardware and buy a "gamer lounge" router, or can i tweak software. any advise, comments, or recommendations of equipment would be appreciated.

Most SOHO NAT routers have only the bare minimal in the truest sense of any firewall functionality, typically no more then SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection), so any speed penalty is not noticeable for most Internet applications. If the particular application is that sensitive to any and all delays, then your best bet is to contact the publisher directly for their approved or tested equipment recommendations.
