I disconnected my router to take it to my grandparents house so I could use my laptop there. When I got there I realized they already had a wireless network running so I never set it up there. I come back home and reconnect the router and for some reason I cannot get onto the internet. The internet works fine if I have it plugged directly from the modem into the computer but as soon as I hook up the router it stops working. The wireless network is detected by my laptop and I can connect, but when I try to open IE, it just comes up saying page not found. I also cannot connect to the internet on my desktop which is wired to the router. I tried running the setup disk for the router and it goes through everything fine, then at the end it says it cannot find an internet connection. It was just working 3 days ago, I cannot figure out what is wrong. It is a belkin 2.4Ghz 802.11g wireless G Router.

Check the users manual for the sequence of powering up the modem and router. Some manufacturers specify powering on the modem first then the router while others say to power on the router first then the modem.

For example Belkin says to power on my cable modem before my F5D7230-4 router.

You also may need to reset the router back to the factory defaults to get it to work. Check your users manual for help with that. Note that you will need to reconfigure the router if you do this.
