I have a everx stepnote 1500 I just bought and I can connect to the internet in other places using the "public" network but cannot connect to the wireless router D-Link 514 at home. It has Windows Vista on it. It does connect wired to LAN. We have 2 other laptops (different brands) at home that connect just fine, including one that has windows vista. and when other laptops enter my home they connect just fine, without having to add anyone to the network. Yes, I have an unsecure network. I have removed the antivirual software, lowered the security risk, turned off windows security, unabled firewalls reinstalled drivers, and I an out of ideas. Can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks in advance,
Sooner Al

Just a thought - do you have MAC address filtering on your router?

So I tried the microsoft help and can do it to a point. I show 4 different wireless networks that i could modified. Not know which one to modify, I modified each one and changed it back when I couldn't connect to the internet. Is there any way to know for sure which folder would belong to the wireless at home?

I ended up going and buying a linksys router. Seems they are not compatible (the card in the laptop) and my little dl514, which worked for years!
Thanks for everyone's help
