Hi,

I managed to get the D-Link DI-LB604 Dual WAN Router to work with my Sprint EVDO router (Linksys WRT54G3G-ST) on WAN1. Now, I would like to get the second WAN adapter (WAN2) to work. I can setup my laptop to log into WI-FI networks, but I fail to enable/route that Internet access via the router to my LAN.

After successfully logging in on my laptop, I used the Windows XP network manager (I guess) to setup my laptop so that "others can share my Internet access". Checking TCP/IP settings, Windows assings an IP and subnet adress, but leaves gateway entries open as well as DNS server addresses.

My Dual-WAN router, which is on a different IP address, detects "WAN2" and states "connected" (same as it does with the working Internet connection on WAN1 via my EVDO router). When I change my Dual-WAN roputer to only use WAN2 to check if my "laptop bfidging" works, I cannot surf the web via this WAN2 connection, I even cannot get a ping signal through.

So I wonder whether this is a problem with settings on my laptop, or on my Dual-WAN router, or on my PCs in my LAN, or a combination?

Maybe some of you can give me hints how to setup a laptop to have it work like a DSL/cable modem in connection with a LAN router. I think the fact that it is a Dual-WAN router is not the problem here (but who knows).

And, I was also looking for a kind of WLAN router (or "WLAN modem") which can be used to connect to WI-FI networks (like e.g. a laptop with a WLAN card does), which I than could use instead of my laptop which I am now trying to misuse as modem/gateway for Internet access.

Thanks!

The configuration that you described does not make a lot of sense. It may make more sense if you were leveraging your EVDO to backup a traditional ISP (e.g. cable or DSL), so you might take a look at the following thread and take heed...

If your WiFi ISP is less reliable than your EVDO, then you might consider shopping for a different ISP.
