Hi everyone. I was hoping someone would be able to answer my question regarding wireless networks. I am trying to set up a wireless network in my house. I recently switched ISP's and went from a DSL connection to a cable connection. I am able to log into my SMC router and configure it and I also know that the modem works. However, when run the modem through the router, I am not able to connect ot the internet. In the router setup screen it keeps telling me that the cable connection is disconnected. However, when I run the modem straight into the computer it works. So I can't figure out why the router and modem aren't communicating. I also notice that the WAN light on the router blinks a million times a second whereas when it was on DSL it would stay pretty much solid. Could it be my Enet cable between the router and modem? Could my router be too old (it's three years old)? Thanks in advance for your help.

Cross-posting/reposting doesn't get answers any quicker. It just confuses things, if different approaches are explored. Please pick one of the threads and stick to it for future postings on this subject.

There are also "common courtesy" aspects for others using these forums. So what that means... Unproductive postings (cross-posting, double posting, thread hi-jacking, etc.) ultimately degrade the effectiveness of the forums as an information source for all others.
