Hi, I'm a student at the University of Minnesota, living in the dorms and although wireless routers are forbidden, I've decided I want a wireless room. I got a Trendnet router and I can get the internet to work on my desktop and the wireless to work on my laptop.
The only thing is that my FTP client that works over the U of M network doesn't work. I think this is maybe because of the IP being assigned by the router. Any ideas for getting the router to just give my desktop computer the IP that the network assigns?
I don't really know much about wireless networks and routers but any help would be great!
