Hello everyone, I have searched the forums for a good hour or two and was unable to find anything to do with dropped connections with a cause, just "random dropped" ones.

Heres my problem: My dad will be working on his computer using wireless internet, and i will get home, and as soon as my computer is turned on, his wireless connection drops.
My computer turns on and automatically connects to the network.
Troubleshooting:
The same happens vice versa, im on the internet, then he turns on his laptop and i get disconnected.
Sometimes it even happens after this as we continue trying to get a connection, if one person gets a connection, the other will get disconnected, but after a while of "fighting" it usually works for both laptops.

This problem doesnt happen when a computer is plugged in through a wired connection.

I have mac address and ip mapping so that its not competing for the same ips.

Firmware on my dlink di 624 is up to date.
Anyone have any ideas as what may be causing the dropped connections? Im pretty sure it shouldnt drop everytime a computer connects to the network...

thanks

It should never drop whatever.
Quite an unusual problem. Nothing obvious to suggest.
Any error message on the drop?

no error msgs, its quite strange. But now it seems that its not just when a computer is turned on. One time, microsoft was doing an auto-update on my computer, and then my sis and dad both got disconnected. It seemed like when i started dling the update they got disconnected. Sometimes this happens with other downloads, like bitorrent and my anti-virus auto update.
