satellite internet connection for laptop

I want to connect to the internet via a satellite connection. I want to know what to buy for my laptop in order to get satellite reception. Also, what companies (y) are suggested for best results. I saw a small device placed into the lalptop which gave the user complete access to high speed internet and it cost him about $80 per month for the service. I don't know if the laptop device came with it or if it had to be purchased seperately - my guess is that it had to me bought seperately.
