I am using a 2Wire combination modem router with Wi-Fi for my DSL connection thru AT&T. I have 2 desktop computers hard wired to the modem and they are working fine. The Wi-Fi for some reason has lost strength and I can only connect when within 10 feet of the unit. I would like to connect a Netgear wireless router to this unit to be able to use the increased range for Wi-Fi. Can I continue to use the hard wired connections to the 2Wire unit and plug the Netgear into one of the ports on the 2Wire to use that for any Wi-Fi connections? If so what would I need to do to accomplish this. The Wi-Fi built into the 2Wire unit is functioning but with only a range of about 10 feet so I assume I would have to disable the Wi-Fi function of the 2Wire unit somehow. Can someone give me an idea if this is possible and if so some direction as to how to accomplish this? Thanks
