WinXP apparently doesn't offer netBEUI as a LAN protocol (unlike 98 where it was easy.) I have 3 machines behind a Siemens Speedstream router on cable and would like to share files using netBEUI. Win 98SE/Win 2000PRO/WinXP are running on separate computers. I'd rather not have to buy IPX/SPX.
Can netBEUI be copied and transferred from Win98 to 2000/XP? Must be a better way....
A search does reveal two netBIOS files in XP: isn't that the precusor of netBEUI and can I get at that apart from the bloody Network Wizard and do a manual setup as in 98?
Thanks.

netBEUI is included on the XP CD, just not as a default protocol within the installation itself. It is off of one of the additional directories on the installation CD.

Both IPX/SPX and TCP/IP are included with all releases of Windows. They do not charge extra for them and each will also support file/print sharing.
