I have an application package that works great on LAN. It uses TCP/IP protocol to connect from the PC to the UNIX machine. Now we have replaced the LAN with WAN. We are in one building and the UNIX server is in another building. It takes me 6 to 10 times for me to log into the UNIX server on the WAN but I have not problem logging into the UNIX server on the LAN.
Any suggestions on what is happening?

Cross/double-posting doesn't get answers any quicker. It just confuses things, if different approaches are explored. Your other thread at http://forums.practicallynetworked.com/showthread.php?t=7425 has additional information/activity, so this one will be closed. This appears to be the exact same situation with some additional information provided, you should conisder consolidating the information that has been presented across the threads.
There are also "common courtesy" aspects for others using these forums. So what that means... Unproductive postings (cross-posting, double posting, thread hi-jacking, etc.) ultimately degrade the effectiveness of the forums as an information source for all others.
