My PC is connecting with my router (D-Link DSL G604T) which is in turn connecting to the web.

I have entered my ISP's details as given. The problem arises after approimately 5 minutes after opening Internet Explorer, I am unable to browse any more web pages and when I try to enter a new web address manually in the address bar, the dialogue error message "Internet Explorer could not open the search page" appears.

This problem first manifested when I tried to install an Olivetti ANY WAY photo wireless printer. However, this has been un-installed and my firewall has been closed, neither of which has solved the problem.

Can anyone help with this problem?

So you can surf for 5 minutes fine, and then it stops?

I've had exactly the same problem. Same router, same printer, no Internet.

It seems to be DNS related as I can ping upstream servers by IP, but not by name.

I've been able to get back online by manually setting my DNS servers (via the DHCP on the router) to OpenDNSs (208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220).

I'll spend one more night working on it, then it's going back to Olivetti.

Well, the printer has gone back to the shop.

I found that the Bonjour mDNS service installed by the printer's wifi configuration tool was the problem. It's not removed with the main driver, so you'll have to remove it separately or disable the service.
