I would be very grateful if anyone can help me with the following problem. It's been driving me nuts the last few days! :(
I'm running Windows Server R2 x64 and trying to setup a PPTP VPN server via Incoming Connections. (My laptop and the server are connected to a D-Link DGL-4300 router.) As soon as I setup Incomming Connections, the server can't access the internet or view the shares on my laptop under My Network Places. I also can't ping my laptop using it's name or IP address. (By the way, Windows Firewall is turned off and there are no other firewalls running in the background.)
However, once I remove Incomming Connections everything goes back to normal. I can view my laptop on the LAN and also access the internet.
It seems once I enable Incoming Connections it somehow overrides my LAN settings. I'm sure the solution is something simple. Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you for any help,
Paul
