Missing Win98 dll needed for wireless configuration

Catch-22:
1) Successful install of Linksys WAP54g and Linksys BEFSR41 on an XP Pro Dell, and a Linksys WPC54g card in a Gateway Solo 5300 Win98 notebook. Notebook gets to Internet on cable modem through AP and router.

2) I set up a Workgroup on the Dell XP Pro, and the wizard writes a floppy to install network config on notebook.

3) Same workgroup is set up on the notebook.

4) Floppy installation on notebook proceeds normally through re-start, and then on re-boot, Win98 reports two missing dlls needed from Win98 CD: upnp.dll, and hnetwiz.dll.

5) Win98 doesn't contain these two dlls.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I don't know if this is your problem but a standard install of Windows 98 should be updated to service pack 1 to ensure proper networking operation.

Download the 'System Update' and install it.
