Wireless Network Advice - basic info please??

Hi
I am trying to set up ICS between my pc and my daughter's.
My main pc connects through an ADSL modem. I have been given an Inexq wireless router to connect the client pc.. I have the router, an ethernet cable, all the software and a USB wireless adapter (dongle??)
The thing is, my modem is an older one and there is nowhere to plug the router into it so I can't connect it to the host computer via a cable.
What I want to know, please, is if this is do-able??! Is it possible to connect the wireless router to my daughter's PC and plug the adapter into mine - would this then enable ICS?
I am so sorry if the above sounds ridiculous but someone at PC world told me that it would be possible but too difficult for me to do... I'm ok with computers but am lost on this!
If it is possible the way I said, could you please let me know??
Thank you for ANY advice you can give me. (I'm on AOL if that makes a difference - I'm wanting my daughter to be able to log on at the same time as me but not enable file sharing)

You must have a port that goes from you modem to the computer, or you would not have signal.

Disconnect your PC from the modem.

Connect your wireless switch to that port to the indicated port on the switch and from the switch connect the computer's to the ports indicated for them. ( if your daughter's PC can not be connected via a cable, the put the wireless card into it )and do the following:

Go to your wireless software and do the set up both on the wireless and at her PC.

You can try the following.

Main computer goes to Modem. Main computer should have a second network card that would be connected to a regular port on the Wireless Router.

Wireless Router should be configured as a Switch with and Access Point assigning to it an IP of 198.168.0.x to be compatible with ICS (instructions here, Using a Wireless Cable/DSL Router as a Switch with an Access Point] (http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html) )

USB Adaptor goes on second computer.

When there is a connection between the two computers, Switch On and configure ICS on the first computer.
