Hi,
I have a Netgear DG834G wireless modem/router (54 mbps). Also have an ebuyer usb 2.0 adaptor. My pc is running Windows XP.
When I boot up my pc detects and connects to the wireless network no problem. As soon as I start surfing the speed decreases in steps, halving each time until I become disconnected. When my pc attempts to reconnect it cannot get past 'acquiring network address/isp'. This is totally frustrating me. I have another older pc and the wireless network appears to be stable on this when using the same gear. I also have a laptop which uses a linksys adaptor, this is also stable when connected. Any ideas what my problem might be. I'm hoping that the stepped decreases in connection speed might be a clue to someone with a bit more knowledge than myself.
thanks for any suggestions that anyone can put my way.
