I have a D-Link DI-524 UP wireless router connected to a Thomson 4pt ADSL modem. If I connect a PC directly to the modem it cannot use the printer which is connected to the router via USB and the print server function of the router. When the PC is connected directly to the modem via cable, no problems.

I prefer to connect the PC via the modem as it is simpler to setup regarding cables etc. The router has 2 pcs connected via wireless and all works fine. All PCs use XP.

Any clues?

I may have missed something, but have you tried hooking the printer directly to one PC and setting the PC up as a print server so the others can access it?

thanks SEFL and ahd done this before I installed the wireless router. I am keen to use the print server function in the router as it is always on.
