Hi,
Is it possible that two networks can run simultaneously from the same router?
I installed a wireless router and realised I had it at the default settings and without security. So, I ran the configuration wizard againa and assigned a network name and WEP encryption.
Then after rebooting, suddenly there were two wireless networks in my area. One with the network name I had assigned and another default one with equal signal strength. Seemed too much of a coincidence in an area wher there were previously no other signals. Is it possible that I configured the second over the first and now there are two? That may sound absurd but I'm thinking perhaps the router can assign different wavelengths to separate the networks? I didn't mess around with any settings other than the SSID and the WEP selector.
