I tried to hook up the DSL modem on a friend's computer to a D-Link wired router so it would serve 2 PC's. The added PC works OK on either the router or the modem, but the original PC will not access the internet thru the router. It still works fine when hooked directly to the modem. Any suggestions as to how to change it so that will work with the router too? The original has XP Home Edition while the added machine runs on XP Pro. Thanks for any help.

1. Are both pc's getting an IP address? Go to the Run box, type 'cmd' [without quotes] and type 'ipconfig', again without quotes. You should get ip's like 192.168.0.x, the last octet being a different number for each pc.
2. Is the original pc set for a static or dynamic IP?
