I have one desktop and 1 laptop. I got the laptop about a month ago. My desktop is connected directly (wired) to a wireless router. It is a BEFW1151 (something like that, 2 years old). My laptop has integrated wireless g. Ever since I got the laptop, my connection would drop. Neither computers would be able to access internet, and I would need to reset the router (I would unplug the power cable, then plug it back in). The connection would come back, but a few hours later the same thing would happen.
Usually, when I turn my laptop on, I get a good connection. I have downloaded some files before at over 300 kbs. But other times, it will be really slow and eventually just disconnect. This problem is a huge inconvenience. I have assigned my computer and laptop manual IP addresses. but still no luck. It is an unsecure connection (yea, i know thats bad). I also use my wireless router for an adapter that I bought for my playstation so I can play games online. Which brings up another problem. I have no lag when playing online, but once a game ends, I almost always get disconnected. My connection just drops at random times, and I need to reset my router. This is driving me crazy. I was thinking of just getting a new router, but I thought I would post around for suggestions before paying $70.
Sometimes no wireless networks will pop up when i go to reconnect, but othertimes i see my network, but when i try to connect, it times out. once or twice it has even said that i have limited or no connectivity.
