My home network goes like this -
'Host' has two NIC's one PCI and one On Board and 'Client' has one PCI NIC; Cable modem goes into 'host' PCI NIC and is shared from 'Host' via the onboard LAN port which goes to a Dlink DES-1005d 5 port switch and then onto 'Client'. I have ICS installed (and working, but not with out many a headache) and can view and change shared folders from 'Host' and 'Client' PC's and internet works on both. All seems to be working fine. That is until I try and host a game on the network. For some reason, the 'Client' cannot see a hosted game through the 'Host' But if the 'Client' hosts a game, the 'Host' can see it and connect. Does anyone have any idea what is happening? I have also noticed it is the same with people trying to connect to the 'Host' game server from the internet. It can't be seen. I'm at my networking abitlities end. I have a software firewall, but I have closed that and tried to connect, but the same thing happens. I need some help.
