Wireless Connection: Not Connected

Hi, I no alot about computers, but nothin of Network.

I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router with a cable modem connected to it and my desktop which is right next to both. I also have a Tobisha Laptop in the other room that has a wireless network card.

The Problem i have is when i turn the laptop on and it loads and everything to the desktop the wireless icon comes up saying "Wireless Connect: Not Connected" I disabled it and re-enabled it and it does the same, and i even repair it and get "could not complete the following: No Networks Are In Range" well thats not true when the router isnt more then 25 feet away. I have tried everythin i could think of, Reinstallin drivers for the net card, updating windows, and the router. neither of those work. Can someone help me?

By the way, the desktop is runnin XP Pro and the laptop is runnin XP Home..

follow these steps

1. delete all the profiles on your computer-->if your using WZC just right--view available-- go to wireless tab--prefered network remove all the profiles

2. check if your MAC FILTER is enabled.

3. change SSID and Channel :)

4. power cycle your network----shutdown comp-router-modem wait for 15 sec.

power on firts the modem wait for the lights to lit up second router same thing and last computer.
