Win2000 with win XP over a broadband wireless

A very strange issue has come up. I am hooked on to a wirelss broadband network. The network allots virtual IP address. I have two machines at distant places. One is running win2000 advanced server (SP4) and other is win XP (SP2). The problem is that these two systems are not able to ping each other whereas they are able to receive and ping other systems on the network (other systems basically running on win XP). Gateway is same for both. What could be the possible cause and remedy. The purpose of this is that I have some ip cameras on the win XP machine and I have to view the same from my win 2K machine. Hence it is necessary that the two systems should ping each other. Please suggest.

Cross-posting doesn't get answers any quicker. It just confuses things, if different approaches are explored. There are also "common courtesy" aspects for others using these forums. So what that means... Unproductive postings (cross-posting, double posting, thread hi-jacking, etc.) ultimately degrade the effectiveness of the forums as an information source for all others.
