My router keeps turning off

Every 10 mins or so my router turns itself off and i have o restart the comp to get it to work again heres some info on it:

Make : D - Link
Model : Not near it at the time
Purchased : 2 weeks back

Weve had a tech out but that didnt work he got it working for a short period of time then it stopped. Any ideas? :confused:

My advice is going to be pretty obvious. This isn't a problem i've had before so i'll just tell you what i would do if it ever happened to me.

Firstly, check all router connections, make sure there all plugged in tight. If it still occurs, turn the router off for 5 mins, and when i say 5 mins i actually mean 5, not just 2 seconds. If it's still turning itself off, get replacement cables for all your connections, it may just be a faulty cable thats causing you the problem. If its STILL not turning on. Uninstall the router and all its components and set up your network again from scratch, making sure to use your new cables this time just to be sure.

Thats the most solid advice i could give based on what you've told me. So check out the steps and get back to me to let me know if they worked. If they didnt work and you have asked someone else who has fixed it, or managed to solve the problem yourself, i would also appreciate you getting in touch to let me know what the problem was and how you fixed it so i can expand my own knowledge base :D.

Hmm.. if the Router turns itself Off why do you have to restart the computer?

Nope its been turned off over the weekend and thats more than 2 mins but it still doesnt work :rolleyes: anyone else no how ??? :confused:

Have you tried replacing your cables and re-installing the router yet?

dude replace ur router its broken, orrr if dat doesnt help u need disable ur ssid "Hidden Network" is a problem and often doesnt broadcast signals but if your ROUTER da actual thing turns off and on replace it

kamil, this thread is over a year old, it's probably resolved one way or another by this point based on the lack of activity.
