I am using DSL with a wireless connection because the modem is upstairs and my dad doesnt want wires running down the stairs.

The problem is ever since I got my wireless the internet acts wierd. Everytime I go to a website that loads alot of pictures or files or if I go and download a file, my connection to my router times out for like 3-20 seconds and then resumes, then it does it again.

Its not getting interference from other stuff because it only happens when I try to download things

This is making it impossible for me to download files online. Does anyone have any advice?

Its a Belkin router thats all I know.

That screenshot is of a program called HLSW that monitors game servers. I left it open for a minute while I tried to download a 5megabyte file. Every red line is when my internet loses connectivity for several seconds, making it impossible for me to download things or surf the internet.

When downloading from the web, the DSL connection speed and reliablity has a lot to do with your problem. DSL has levels of avaible download speeds, but when you download across a wireless connection with low connectivity it will take longer than usual, hence the timinjg out.
Pictures or video's are files that should have a strong streaming connection.
try moving your dad closer to the access point or get a Linksys with signal boost.
