Can anyone please help?
I am having masses of 'Page cannot be displayed' messages and
very frequent internet connection dropouts. I have done many things to remedy this but still no luck. The idea now is that it is my firewall. It is Zonealarm free. I have tried posting at ZA forums, no response, and the technical support won't help on a free download only the premium products.
The first remedy is to go to your computer and click:
Start>Run>command> then type ipconfig/all
and get the DNS Servers and DHCP servers and manually enter them into zonealarm.
I got the DNS servers no problem, but the only reference in the command window to DHCP is:
Dhcp Enabled NO
I feel that if this is not enabled then it cannot be working, therefore causing my problems. My OS is XP SP1. Another spanner has been thrown in the works, because whilst researching this, I read some info in regards to DHCP, and the info said that one of the draw backs with XP is that you cannot disable DHCP which is very confusing as mine is not enabled. Can anyone tell
me how to enable this and whether it is going to make a difference to my problems.
Many thanks and any help much appreciated.
