Is there a program, that would make a virtual HDD on my PC containing the files from a FTP server? I've set up a FTP server on my home PC and would like to access it via internet with other computers just as I use Gmail Drive. I know there is the VPN option, but supposing my router doesn't support it...

Well, I don't use Gmail Drive (in fact I have never heard of it) but a very safe way to do this is to setup a Secure Shell (SSH) server on your home PC then use a program like WebDrive that lets you map a drive on your home PC through the SSH tunnel to your laptop...

copSSH server (free)...

WinSCP is free, but you can't map a drive like WebDrive. It does come with a nice Windows Explorer type interface so you can make the connection from the remote site and then simply drag-n-drop files between the local and remote PC...
