i have two linksys wireless routers, one b and the other g. my plan is to have the wireless disabled on the b-router and enabled on the g-router. broadband cable comes in downstairs, and right now it is set up so that the ethernet coming out of the modem goes into the wall and out of the wall in the office upstairs (plugs into the g-router with wireless enabled). i would like to insert the b-router into the network downstairs and use it as a normal router. so it would be initially recieving the internet from the modem and forwarding it upstairs to the g-router where it would wirelessly transmit to various comps in the house as well and wired to another comp in the same room. is all this possible, or must i reverse the order of the routers (aka. g-router downstairs and b-router upstairs)? either way i want the wireless on the b-router to be disabled and used only as a regular router. kinda complicated, or at least thats my impression after all i've tried to get this working... thanks for any help..

It is quite straight forward.

Each of the routers is a combination of functions.
1. WAN gateway with NAT feature and firewall. 2. Switch. 3. Wireless Access Point. 4. DHCP service.
You should use only one WAN gateway and one DHCP service in the network.

The router you choose as the WAN gateway should be decided by its firewall features (if any). Ideally you want an SPI firewall. Having decided that, the second router will be used only as a switch and Access point - you should not connect to its WAN port.

For example:
ISP->modem->WAN port..Router 1...LAN port->LAN port..router 2...Lan ports->PCs.
The DHCP service in router 2 must be disabled.

does it matter which router is serving as wireless? (router 1 vs. router 2 in your description)
