shutslar

I currently have a wired network that looks like the following:
Router/Firewall/DHCP/Gateway:
200mhz box with IPCop 1.4.10 and DansGuardian running 2 wired nics
eth0 = External internet connection
eth1 = Internal network connections
4 port hub connected to eth1 and 2 desktops
2 desktops - 1 WinXP, 1 Linux
I want to add a couple more desktops to the network but they will be upstairs and hard wiring this will be a real pain. Can I just put a wireless nic in each of the desktops and then put a wireless nic in the IPCop box for my wireless network? Is it possible to use the IPCop router/gateway to act as my access point? Or, do I need to buy a separate wireless access point/router and connect it up to a plain old ethernet adapter in the IPCop box?
Looking for some advice and direction.
Best regards,
Scott
