Hello all,

My first post here, but I am pretty knowledgable. I have a question I have been trying to answer for a while now, but have been unsuccessful thus far. I have search the net high and low and have not been able to find a solid answer.

I have found a ton on wired networking 2 wireless routers, but no answer to my problem.

I have 4 xbox's in my house, 2 on the first floor and 2 on the second floor. I would like to network them all together without having to run wires from the first to the second. I have looked into a wireless router (which I currently have a linksys router for my computers) and the console specific wireless adapters for the xbox... The problem is that they run about $60 each for the adapters.

Well Staples has the netgear WGR614NA On sale for only $30 this week! Click here to see it. (http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?ts=1135168651534&prodCatType=1&storeId=10001&productId=89788&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&cmArea=FEATURED:SC3:CG58) I was thinking about going out and getting 2 of these and then attaching 2 of the xbox's on the first floor to the first and the remaining 2 on the second floor to the second. Then network the 2 routers to each other.

Does anyone know if this is possible FOR SURE? I would like to know before I go out and purchase them. Note that I will not be using any sort of internet connection. I simply want to connect all 4 devices.

Thanks for any help ahead of time, and here is a quick drawing of exactly what I am trying to do:

If your Router is WDS capable it can be used to communicate with another Router (look at the data sheet and see if it mentions WDS capacity, I do NOT think that the Netgear is WDS).

Thanks much for the reply! I was waiting for a reply like this before I bought the routers, but I was running out of time. So I just bought the 2 routers the other day, so I have to start playing around with them to see if I can get it to work.

I think the links you posted will help out quite a bit. Thanks again for the info. I will let you know how everything goes.

I think I am going to try setting up everything with static IP's. I think this will make the job (if possible) much easier.

Thanks again and happy holidays!
