All computer winXP home or pro. Using a Belkin F5D7632uk4 does not have the range to reach the back area of the house. I want to use the Belkin F5D7130uk in the back area of the house to do this, by wiring it in to the main router, but have several questions as I'm not sure how to do this. Like this : http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/keewaa/wireless.gif

Both can be found here, near the bottom of the page :

Questions:
a) Can I use an ethernet cable from the main F5D7632uk4 to the F5D7130uk, to give wireless coverage for the whole house, some bits of the house in the middle will be able to receive from both units, does this matter?

b) Is the F5D7130uk the correct device to buy or something else ?

c) Is it as easy as plug in and use or do I have to change the settings on either unit (like disabling DHCP in either unit, or giving static IPs etc)?

d) If I wanted to do it without the cable, is there a device that would be able to do this without the ethernet cable, like a repeater of some sort, as I couldn't see any on the Belkin site.

Many Thanks.

You seem to have the right ideas.

a) Yes use an ethernet cable. It doesn't matter the wireless overlaps - it should.

b) You need a wireless Acess Point (AP).

c) There should be no DHCP service in the AP - if there is disable it. All settings should be on auto, no static IPs.

d) If you can run a cable use the AP. A repeater halves the wireless thru put and is a last resort.
