Can someone help me? I just bought a new laptop. Before I brought it home it was completely check out at the store and worked fine. When I got it home and tried to access my home (Wireless) network it won't connect. Here's the kicker, the laptop sees the router/access point and the router/access point sees the laptop. The connection window on the laptop says it's connected, but it also says "Aquiring network address" and never fully connects. I've tried everything I know, does someone out there have a clue?

Can you check if your router/access point is acting as a DHCP, ie, its assigning ip addresses to your machines.
If not, you could assign your laptop an IP, in the same range as router/access point.
Eg, if router is 192.168.0.1, give your laptop the address 192.168.0.2
This is done via the properties of your wireless card (in Network Connections). Choose properties of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and put in your choosen IP. You should now be able to connect.

However, if you use your laptop in hotspots on or other wireless networks, you will have reconfigure your Internet Protocol to "Obtain IP Addresses Automatically" and then change it back again to connect to your home network.

The best solution is to configure your router/access point to act as a DHCP. See manufacturers site for details on how to do this.

Colin.
