Hi,
I'm new here but I've read the stuff about what i need to put in my post to ask a decent question, so i'll do my best. please bear with me and if i miss anything let me know.
Ok the problem I have is that I have a wireless network set up which has an imac, a windows laptop and a windows pc running off it, all connected wirelessly. The pc is running xp, and is pretty new. the laptop and the mac get great signal pretty much all of the time, they're fairly reliable. We're using a D-link wireless ADSL router (reading off the box now) DSL-G604T 54Mbps 2.4GHz access point, which is plugged in to the telephone line.
However the pc has real problems. It's using a D-link DWL-G122 802.11g Wireless usb dongle in its own usb 2.0 cradle.
we've installed everything, and run everything we're supposed to, and like i say the mac and the laptop are connecting, surfing the internet, getting email and everything. However every time we try to log on with the pc, the signal fluctuates on and off every three or four seconds. So the computer is connecting to the network, then disconnecting, and doing this over and over. We considered the possibility of viruses and so did a virus scan, found a few things but nothing to resolve the problem.
So does anyone know how i can get this pc to connect to my network, and remain stably connected?
please let me know if there's any more you need to know
