my previus wireless reesever (3 years old) is now on low connectivity and rarely goes above that. it disconnects frequently when doing multiple online tasks. is this my reciver, or software? and also is it better to have a wireless or a eithernet cable to connect? which one is harder to setup?

Wireless is easier to setup, but its also very unsecure, and takes a lot of work to get it even remotely acceptable to secure. Running cables is harder, but you're getting much faster speeds, and no security risk unless osmeone physically taps into your router or breaks in thru your isp.

Ethernet (to me anyways) is also more viable and stable in the long run. ive heard about a lot of wireless devices breaking down after a year or so. But the choice is ultimately yours.

Ethernet is the type of the Network that we commonly use.

I.e. both Wired Network and Wireless are Ethernet.

Wireless is a mere replacement to a wire. The Network has to be configured regardless if it works with Wire or Wireless. If you use Wireless, you have to configure it as well, so you might say that Wireless is more complicated than Wire only.
