Wonder if anyone can help. My wireless network was working well until I added a D-link DWL-G710 range extender [because house has thick walls & many wireless crannies]. Original router is a Belkin, not a D-link, but the configuration went well, internet connection is fine, ping works to all network points, but I can no longer file share via the range extender. If I use the original router I can share files as before. Anyone know what's going on? I've a suspicion that this is a TCP/IP issue, but I've been unable to resolve it so far. I've tried DHCP assignment of IP addresses and also server assigned - makes no difference. I've tried assigning the range extender as a gateway - makes no difference. So now I'm in need of good ideas. Has anyone experienced this problem or similar issues with a range extender before? All posts welcome.......

Maybe some things to consider...

- What are the ping response times with the extender? This is a more remote possibility as you described Internet functionality while running through the extender.

- What about completely power cycling your entire network, just in case there is a MAC address conflict somewhere?
