Hi.
Where I work, all of the computers have WinXP a floppy drive, couple of USB slots and NO CD rom drive.
Which ever computer the staff log-on to in the building they will get their own work space as they would on their own pc.

All the folders are stored on servers. If anything is stored in My Documents, they won't see that on any other pc of course. In My Documents there is a shortcut to My Work which is I guess to one's work area on the server.
The staff cannot access the C drive. The Control panel only has a couple of things in it but certainly not any system tools or anything. Only the IT dept can get the full use under Adminstrator.
I know when the computers first arrived, a floppy disk was used to kick off the XP installation and all the Office programs.
Can someone please tell me what type of setup up this is and where I can get information on how this works.
Thanks for any advice
Dingbat.

Some type of "over the network" installation package is probably being used. It's pretty much beyond the typical topics of basic SOHO networking that gets covered across these forums. Your chances of finding information on this subject is probably better at http://www.enterpriseitplanet.com. They also have forums too and it is geared at business networks.
