Anyone know the usabel range for the wireless technologies. I have a run between buildings. I am not able to run a connection between the buildings. I think I will need an air bridge, but am looking for ideas.

Greenstead 10-28-2002, 06:23 PM The range with the standard equipment is exaggerated by all suppliers. Divide their claims by 3 for more realism. Also outside inteference is a factor. rain, trees, wet trees much worse. But anything is possible if you choose suitable equipment. D-Link for example make high gain anntenna for their equipment to extend range. See here (bottom of linked page): http://www.dlink.com/products/DigitalHome/Wireless/11b/11bWireless.htm Or Linksys do similar. There is a forum here that has some range discussions: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,4778838~root=wlan~mode=flat unixfan 10-29-2002, 08:43 AM how about using enterprise level equipment like orinoco so you can actually use external amps and its rated for business enviornments, unlink crap like dlink and linksys.
