Distance of home Plug

What is the maximum distance of travel for home plug. I have a computer a little over 250' (by electrical wire) away from the router and thats passing through two sets of breakers. Wireless is out of the question. I don't go by what manufacturers say unless I can speak to an engineer and then apply a little salt. Would this actually work? THANX

HomePlug will work up to 1000ft. Data rate decreases as you get farther away and interference from electric motors, fluorescent lights, halogen lamps, switching power supplies and dimmer switches can decrease data rate.
